This year my journey of remembrance takes me to some of Jesus's last teaching before the cross. When asked about what we can expect upon his return he indicated 5 things that will be true.
1. His true servants will be about their Masters business.
2. His followers will be eagerly anticipating His return.
3. His bride will be clearly recognized because her light will be shining.
4. There will be evidence of faithful use of the gifts He has given us.
5. If we didn't recognize & respond to Him in the lives of the poor & the stranger, then we never knew him.
Matt. 23, 24, 25. Also it does not go well for those who do not know Him.
It is good for us to remember & celebrate the significance of the past, but let's do it with our eyes fixed on the things to come.
